How do I know if my tires are legal?
You can do it by checking the thread depth of all the tires during PTI, that way we can prevent blowouts and accidents. Legal tread depth for tires on tractors are: steer 4/32, on drive axle 2/32, and for trailer 2/32 as well.
Why do we have to take pictures of the damages (breakdown)?
Because that way we can see closer what the problem is, that way we can help you more accurately and faster, and we can have a better look at what kind of issue there is and what you need at the moment.
Does the company use recap/retreaded tires?
No, the company sticks to the policy of only using virgin tires during all tire changes.
Is pre-trip inspection mandatory and how often should I do it?
Pre-trip inspections are mandatory and they have to be performed every day before the driver starts their shift. Also, a post-trip inspection needs to be done after the trip.
How do I report any issues with my truck or trailer?
All equipment issues should first be logged into the DVIR section of your logbook. After that, the maintenance team will reach out to the driver and assist them in taking care of the problem. The driver can always call extension 9 and speak directly with the maintenance team 24/7.
What is DVIR?
Driver Vehicle Inspection Report is used for drivers to report issues with the equipment if there are any.
Am I responsible for finding my own shops or road services?
No, the driver is not tasked with finding a repair shop or finding the road service for their breakdowns. The driver needs to notify the company with the issues that they are experiencing and the maintenance team will find the nearest shop available.
What should my PSI in tires be?
Tractor’s tires should be between 105 PSI and 110 PSI, trailer tires should be kept inflated anywhere between 95 PSI and 105 PSI.
